Ingredients Asparagus Olive Oil Salt Pepper

Store fresh asparagus in a container with water in a refrigerator.  Be sure the bottom of the stems are covered in water

Cut the stems about 3 inches from the bottom of the stem and place them on  a sheet pan.

Alternatively, You can break the stems off the Asparagus by bending the Asparagus. It will break easily at the woody part of the stem.

Drizzle the  olive oil on the Asparagus.

Sprinkle the salt on the Asparagus.

Sprinkle the black pepper on the Asparagus.

Place in 425°F oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.  Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the spears. Be sure to monitor the asparagus so they don't overcook.

Place them on a plate and serve!   For added spice-sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes before serving.
